A Typical Day on an African Safari

PHOTOGRAPHING ELEPHANTS

While every day on safari the unknown awaits, one can guarantee that it will always be an exciting adventure full of wonder. Generally when staying at camps / lodges within concessions, reserves or national parks there are two wildlife drives; early morning and late afternoon when animals are at their most active. There is down time after lunch, to relax in the midday heat. Your day will go something like this:

5.30am - staff will wake you up with coffee/tea and biscuits; 6.00am - head out for your morning wildlife drive; 8.30am - stop for a light breakfast in the bush; 11am - return to camp; 11.30-12.30pm - brunch/lunch followed by a mid-day break; 3.30pm - high tea and cakes; 4pm - head out for the afternoon wildlife drive; 6.30pm - sundowners and snacks, followed by a night drive on our return to camp; 8.00-8.30pm - dinner
